The Unspoken Battleground: How Dorms Became Petri Dishes for Bacteria A recent study has shed light on one particularly grim aspect of dorm life: the bacterial explosion that occurs on shared beds.

Researchers found bed sheets in men's dorms contained an astonishing 1. 5 million CFU/sq. in. of bacteria, accounting for a staggering 97% of all dorm room bacteria.

The statistics are hardly surprising, given that students often inherit hand me down beds and may only clean their rooms once a month.
